Perhaps you are fortunate enough to own or have access to a vacation home or apartment in a resort area – as an owner you no doubt entertain overnight guests most every weekend while as a guest you want to be considerate and appreciative. There are many thoughtful home décor items which can be enjoyed by both homeowners and guests season after season.
Skip the scented hostess candles and go for something useful and practical – beach or pool towels are a perfect example. One can never have too many towels when there’s a lake, pool or beach nearby, so a top quality pool towel or large bath sheet makes a great gift. Another thoughtful gift is a set of monogrammed guest towels – these can simply be hand towels or you could get a full set of towels. Most standard towel sets include one bath towel, one hand towel and one washcloth along with a matching bath mat. A set of luxurious velour towels would be appreciated by homeowners and guests alike.
Bedding is another area where more is better in a vacation home. Sheet sets are always useful as laundry can get backed up on busy weekends plus it’s nice to have a range to choose from. Instead of standard cotton sheets a nice set of sateen sheets or a comfortable set of jersey knit sheets is an especially thoughtful and useful purchase.
Pillows are another great idea – a foam pillow will only last a few years while feather pillows may last as many as ten years; a new pillow can be most useful in a vacation home. Temporary bedding solutions such as a nap mat or sleeping bag is great when there are kids around.
